The design process is iterative and cooperative. We provide a comprehensive scope of architectural and design services. Our architecture firm works throughout Northern California and beyond – offering close collaboration and custom tailored services for each project, client, site, and budget. Full Design Services provide what most clients need to reach their aesthetic and performance goals. Typical Full Design Services include, Planning and Discovery, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Interior Design.
CONSTRUCTION SERVICES
As a design + build firm we offer complete inhouse, start to finish, design and construction services on selection projects. We are licensed general contractors that have extensive knowledge in Passive House and Zero Net Energy homes. We employ a crew of skilled and attentive carpenters that are highly capable of executing high performance details. The advantage of the design + build model is that the client, designer and builder are all in collaboration from the outset. This method of collaboration helps eliminate gaps in communication, which in turn insures that projects are built to the highest standards, meet the clients vision, and stay on budget. The design + build model is particularly advantageous when building super energy efficient buildings, as all the stake holders have buy-in and are working towards the same goal.
ENERGY PERFORMANCE
Through our focus on Passive House design and construction over nearly a decade, we have emerged as a regional leader in high performance green building, bringing transformational energy performance and quality-assured durability to our projects. Our knowledge of building science always informs our design and construction decisions. We offer inhouse energy modeling in WUFI, PHIUS’s energy modeling program that has been proven to accurately predict a building’s energy usage. Our collaborators on home performance and mechanical design often include one of the states leading mechanical contractors, Balance Point Home Performance.
